King of the Mountain!

A few weeks ago my Grandpa built Jack a sandbox. For the past few weeks though, it's just been a box. We just haven't had the time to go pick up the sand. This afternoon my Dad finally helped us out and picked up a load of sand in is trailer. We were over for dinner tonight and Jack just couldn't wait to fill the sandbox. He had so much fun playing in the trailer tonight. I was trying to take pictures and instead of saying "cheese" he just kept putting his arms up and saying "King of the Mountain"

Memorial Weekend at Higgins

Here are just some pictures of our inaugural weekend of the summer at Higgins Lake. Jack was so excited to be there. He could hardly even take a nap last Friday before we left because he was just too excited. I can't believe Josh and Jack actually got in the water! The temperature was only 52 degrees...Those are my boys! We look forward to a summer filled with sandboxes and boats

Saturday

A typical Saturday around our house usually involves lawn mowers, wheel barrows, yard work, etc...this is what i came around the corner to see yesterday :)

Big Brother

The other day I woke both kids up from 3 hour naps! (A nice break for me...) While running to the kitchen to get a bottle for Ellie I was about to just put her on the ground because she now crawls right off the couch, when Jack says in the sweetest big brother, just waking up voice, "You can put her right here mommy, I'll hold her." He is so kind and always wanting to Love on her.
What a great big brother!

Uncle Scot

I was talking to my brother Scot today and scolding him for not yet looking at our new blog and the pictures of the kids. He lives in Florida and hasn't seen them since Christmas. Who wouldn't want to see their glowing faces everyday. Anyway, I obviously don't have recent pictures of them together but i told him i would post an old one. Here's to you Scot! Can't wait to see you soon.

Sorry...this one goes back to last summer

Grandma's in Touch

Yesterday we had our second annual Grandma's in Touch Picnic. For two years now, both my mom and Josh's mom have been praying with a group of other Grandma's for our kids. Every week they gather and lift our little ones and our families in prayer. It is a wonderful and humbling blessing to be a part of. Psalm 78:2-7 really captures the heart of it.

Josh left today for a week on business and we were just taking some pictures outside as we said our goodbyes. At first all Jack wanted to do was sit in the grass. We couldn't get him to pose any other way...the grass it is.

Crawling Like Crazy

Eleanor is now super fast on her knees. If I leave the room i need to do a perimeter sweep to be sure there is nothing for her to put in her mouth before i get back. Oh things are changing quickly! It's hard to leave her uncontained for even moments now.

Imagination Station

Jack has such a vibrant imagination! I look forward to every day just to hear what he'll come up with next. This particular day he used blankets to create a car and trailer on the floor. Teddy was Grandpa, Woody was Nana, the dog was Ellie and they were all going to Higgins Lake. Don't forget the Grill that Grandpa was cooking Corn on in the trailer. All the Hot Wheels were the corn on the cob for the grill. It goes on...i can't remember everything that was happening :)
Here he watched cartoons from the laundry bucket with a pillow in the bottom. I think this was supposed to be another sort of trailer or vehicle he was riding in.

Blooming

I was outside this morning withe the kids and couldn't help but notice the beautiful blooms on the tree out front of the house. This tree only blooms for about a week in the spring and then it's just leaves for the rest of the season. We enjoy it while we can!

Athletes in Training

Eleanor's new favorite sitting position is with one leg back and one leg forward like she's doing the hurdle. Jack saw her doing this and said "Look Mommy! Ellie's stretching" So he sat down beside her and started stretching too. I've been running a lot lately as I'm training for a 10K this weekend and Jack loves to do stretches with me.

My little athletes in training. Way to go kiddos!

Backwards it is!

Eleanor is at such a fun age right now. She constantly wants to be on the floor exploring. Just in the past week or so she's become more mobile, however she can only figure out how to go backwards. This morning she backed all the way up into the corner with the books. Way to go Ellie!
